The Players: Level 3

Every game has players. Some are active players like americanthumbs.com, some are league operators like Choopa LLC and others own the stadium. If there were no hosts or delivery system, there would be no game.

During the course of the trial, about 20 kiddie porn sites were used to convict the defendant of possessing porn on his computer which had been acquired from these sites from the Internet which meant it was interstate commerce and a Federal crime.

Seventeen of these sites are still up and running and 10 can be tied together because they use the same corporate network to deliver their product to the public. I still believe that if possession of one picture is a crime regardless of how it got on your machine then the hosting of kiddie porn sites and facilitating the delivery should be a bigger crime.

Lets look at the sites which I call by name but even if you love porn, don’t go there. Use of these sites will put you in jail.

1.Americanthumbs.com – A trace route command shows that the traffic passes over a network owned by Level 3 Communications (hereafter called just Level 3) before arriving in Newark, New Jersey and being delivered to the nearby hosting service run by Choopa LLC. This was so easy to find you would think they are all respectable corporate citizens.

2.Pornololita.info This site was impossible to track with whois (it ends at your own machine) but a trace route showed it passed through exactly the same route as youngbabes.com

3.Youngbabes.com traffic passes through various networks which are hard to trace and ends at directnic.com This is the company that had its 15 minutes of fame during hurricane Katrina as they struggled to keep operating and broadcast the pictures of looting from their web cams. But when you do a whois, it says that the IP address is controlled by Savvis, so will stick with them for now.

4.Brashteensex.com traffic moves through the Savvis network before passing though a Savvis Honeypot 208.172.75.110 This cluster of honeypots used to belong to Cable & Wireless before Savvis brought them out. That IP is in the Atlanta Area.

5.Teenypussy.org goes half way across the nation before being picked up by the Savvis Network in Dallis and then passing through a Savvis Honeypot numbered 208.172.35.66 If these were real network IP number’s, you would expect the two to be connected or at least in somewhat close proximity.

6.Littletroublemakers.com passes through the Savvis network before ending up in the DC area at Savvis Honeypot 208.173.10.250

7.Young-models.org crosses the nation on the Savvis network before ending up at a Savvis Honeypot in San Jose, California the number is of course right next door to the one in DC at 208.173.55.6 You would think next time they would match pairs and make the two west cost and two east cost numbers similar.

So who is Savvis and what do they have to do with Level 3?

Savvis was a pioneer in the development Content Delivery especially large media files like porn movies. It was supposed to be from the closest server to the end user but that is not always the case as our treaceroutes place their clients all over the nation. They have also moved into the Information services area such as tracking customers. They were acquired by Level 3.

8.Teencoreclub.com traffic also passes along the same Level 3 path as americanthumbs.com. Neither needs a Honeypot of their own because as discussed in another blog, part of Choopa’s own network includes a Honeypot IP.

9.Localteenies.com traffic passes along the Level 3 network ending in the Newark/New York area.

10.Lolitacj.com which was part of the shutdown procedure that ended up with a conviction of Mr. Stefano uses an apparently different network, Broadwing, and their IP is in the range owned by Broadwing which had a traffic center in the Newark, New Jersey Area. The relationship of course is that Level 3 has acquired Broadwing.

According to Kevin O’Hara, President and COO of Level 3, “The integration of the Broadwing backbone presents significant synergy opportunities….”

Now thats a pretty strong lock on both the content delivery and distribution network for kiddie porn by one corporate entity and just like drug dealing, it’s easier to hit the little man on the street than to go after Mr. Big who controls the distribution of all kiddie porn.

Especially if — as with drug dealing — Mr. Big is in fact the Man.

Possible that these rackets are operated or at least tolerated by the CIA? To use in court — including the court of public opinion — against people who’ve broken no laws but stubbornly won’t keep quiet?

Were it so, then your client — a ‘nobody’ of sorts in an outlying US territory — makes potentially perfect Test Run fodder.

Alrighty. I’m off to scream louder than a ADHD-afflicted banshee (with plenty of medicine). Think I’ll make for the Bar and shout out to the natives something to the tune of:

    Who here hates the Government??”

    The crowd goes wild.
